Fact: We are creatures of habit. We have this incessant need to create routines, gather stuff, store it and protect it with our lives. Our relationships, once spontaneous and fresh now become monotonous and regimented. We go to school, we get a decent job and we hold on to that job for dear life. This is pre-programming at its finest.
I want you to do something for me. Take a moment and think back to a few times when you were ridiculously happy for no good reason…….I’ll wait. (click here for Jeopardy theme music).
So. There is a very good chance that while you were indulging in enjoyable recollections of past memorable events, you may have discovered a common denominator. 89% of enjoyable moments happen when change occurs. Okay…I just made that number up, I pulled that number right outta my ass but change in our everyday mundane lives does illicit high spikes in our serotonin levels. That’s a fancy way of saying, “new stuff feels good”.
So why don’t we change up things more if change has us feeling some kinda way?

Hell, I don’t have an answer to that question. Feel free to leave the answer(s) in the comment section. I’d truly like to know. I’m personally going through a massive dynamic shift in regards to change my life. My emotions have ranged from terrified, to anger, to unfeeling, to sheer bliss. Honestly, change scared the shit out me at first. But it has blossomed into….hold on, that doesn’t sound right, I’m not a prepubescent voice cracking teen. My change has exploded (that’s better) into a state of perpetual spontaneity. I’m literally ready for anything but the current status quo.
This year, lots of change will happen for me. Stand by.
Change. Embrace it, or get swept away by it.
Dope read! Keep it up. It’s been a while since you’ve sent one.

Yessir I’ve been seriously M.I.A. I hope to “change” that.
Great read, and I agree! Change has always had an end result of happiness! Scary at at first, but a nice feeling once you got accustomed to the feeling of flowing in a new direction 🙂
Nice to see you writing again!
Your old WoW friend
